The Program

There are different terms offered during the course of the calendar year. We encourage each dancer to participate for a full year if possible to achieve the maximum benefit. The program includes ballet, tap, different forms of jazz, hip hop, pilates, teacher assisting, choreographing, teaching and more. Each dancer will have a customized schedule to meet their individual needs. As part of this educational program, each scholarship student is required to perform desk duties and support activities for the school. This also teaches the student how to run the dance studio business in the event they will open their own. This program requires dedication, motivation, maturity, responsibility and deep passion for dance. It can be a life changing experience.

THE VALUE TO YOU

The estimated monetary value of this program is thousands of dollars. Each student participates in 12-20 classes weekly. Special classes, lectures, counseling and assistant teaching are sometimes added to the weekly schedule. There is a one time tuition fee (averages $75.00 per month) for each term. This fee goes directly to the program and helps to defray educational and administrative expenses. If a scholarship student wishes to obtain professional headshots (which includes a personal CD), there will be an additional fee.

Every dancer wants to fulfill a dream. We help make that dream a reality. Character building, inspiration of creativity and personal growth are all traits that come with the experience of participating in the DeFore discipline of dance.

As a scholarship student, your life will be full time dancing. You will sharpen your strengths and overcome your weaknesses. You will gain knowledge of the world of dance and its many different opportunities, where your interests lie (teaching, performing, choreographing or other related areas). The training offered can be the experience of a lifetime.
